World-first menopause registry launched

A world-first virtual registry of peri-/menopause in Australia (VITAL) was launched recently to improve health outcomes across Australia, creating real-world impact via knowledge development, research, education and policy.

With research that uses cutting edge technology to gather information on the Australian community experience of peri-/menopause, VITAL is a registry that collects community data via a questionnaire to measure the actual burden of perimenopause and menopause across Australia.

This data could inform how best to support the population, with a specific focus on extending beyond standard metropolitan participants and clinical academic questions, to find out what really matters to the community.

The VITAL team is calling for submissions about the community’s experiences to help break the stigma surrounding peri-/menopause, a hidden condition affecting three million Australians, with one million of these being severely impacted. All responses are confidential.
