Master of Physiotherapy student Caitlin Ward has won two silver medals at the 2023 Cycling World Championships, held in Glasgow recently. Caitlin and riding partner Jess Gallagher missed out on the gold in both the Time Trial and the Sprint Race by a fraction of a second – 0.06 seconds in the Time Trial, and 0.01 in the Sprint Race.

Recognition for women progressing health

Dr Lauren Lines

Congratulations to Dr Lauren Lines for receiving a 2023 EMCR Award from the Australian Health Research Alliance (AHRA). Dr Lines was one of 24 recipients nationwide, which also included Flinders alumni Belinda Lunnay (BHlthSc ’03, PhD(OtherHlthSc) ‘17), Teresa MacDonald (BNg(PreReg) ‘97) and Gemma Sharp.

The EMCR Awards aim to strengthen career development of women working across the breadth of women’s health research. The AHRA’s Women in Health Research Translation and Impact Network is also committed to building capabilities in women researchers across under-represented groups, diverse disciplines and in Indigenous research.

Knight in the director’s chair

Dr Tiffany Knight

Flinders drama lecturer Dr Tiffany Knight put on her director’s hat for Behind the Seams, a Screen Australia-funded web series that recently dropped on Facebook Watch. The series of six five-minute episodes tell a story of family intrigue, sly humour and vintage fashion. It also features recent BCA (Drama) graduate Ella Le Fournour, as well as a cameo appearance in Episode 3 by College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences Dean of Graduate Research, Professor Sharyn Roach Anleu.  All six episodes are available for free on the Behind the Seams Facebook page, which can be found here.
