Flinders joins SA Premier in China

In September, Flinders University President and Vice-Chancellor Professor Colin Stirling and Vice-President and Pro Vice-Chancellor (International) Sebastian Raneskold travelled to China with the Premier and a delegation to promote South Australian education to the Chinese market.

The group was the largest Australian delegation to visit China since international borders reopened after COVID-19 and showcased the strength and purpose of higher education in South Australia – along with providing an opportunity for stakeholders in China to engage with the Premier and other members of the South Australian delegation.

The delegation also connected with several of Flinders’ Chinese alumni, who are brilliant ambassadors for promoting the outstanding student experience and quality education being offered at Flinders. The delegation was most impressed to see the beneficial role that a Flinders education has played in their lives.

While in China, Flinders signed a new Memorandum of Understanding with Capital Normal University, building on a relationship which was first forged almost 20 years ago. This MoU will see Flinders continue to ‘teach the teachers’, with Flinders academics travelling to China to help up-skill Chinese educators.
