Caring Futures Institute Finders Professor Julie Ratcliffe

Professor Julie Ratcliffe, Health Economics and Matthew Flinders Professor, College of Nursing and Health Sciences has been appointed by The Hon Mark Butler MP, Minister for Health and Aged Care, to the Board of the Independent Health and Aged Care Pricing Authority Aged Care Advisory Committee (IHACPA). The Aged Care Advisory Committee (ACAC) provides expert advice to Government on key matters relating to the aged care sector. This includes providing advice on implementation of the aged care reforms and navigating aged care services.

She has also been nominated by the First Assistant Secretary in the Aged Care Quality and Assurance Division of the Australian Government to the Star Ratings Expert Group, providing technical and strategic expert advice on aspects of Star Ratings for residential aged care to make it easier for older people and their representatives to access and compare the quality and safety of residential aged care homes.

Dr Ashokkumar Manoharan, Dr Claire Hutchinson and Associate Professor Janice Jones met with The Hon. Nat Cook MP, Minister for Human Services, to present a toolkit which assists hospitality small and medium-sized businesses in hiring individuals with intellectual disabilities. Creating safer workplaces

Associate Professor Lydia Woodyatt, Professor Melanie Takarangi and Dr Annabelle Neall

The Governor of South Australia, Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC presented Dr Annabelle Neall, Professor Melanie Takarangi and Associate Professor Lydia Woodyatt with an Augusta Zadow Award for their work on Enhancing Women’s Psychological Safety and Wellbeing via Best Practice Framework for Workplace Sexual Harassment Reporting Processes which will evaluate current practice and provide a best practice framework for workplace reporting of sexual harassment based on psychological needs.

The Augusta Zadow Awards have been run by SafeWork SA since 2005 and provide grants of up to $25,000 to help meet the costs of a work health and safety initiative.
