Work begins on Monday 20 November to replace the northern lift in the Central Library. This three-month project will enable a new, faster and more reliable lift to be in operation by the end of February 2024. During the construction phase, an alternative lift can be found at the southern end of the Central Library. These works will also affect the loading bay at the rear of the building, deliveries need to be made via the Hub lift or the southern Central Library lift. The ground floor emergency exit to the loading bay will still be operational.
