Researchers ranked among Australia’s ‘living legends’

Four Flinders University academics have been included among Australia’s top 250 researchers – tagged as global leaders and ‘living legends’ in The Australian newspaper’s RESEARCH 2024 lift-out.

Australia’s top researchers and institutions within 66 fields of health and medical sciences include Flinders’ Professor Rob Baker, for Heart and Thoracic Surgery. Professor Baker is Director of the Cardiothoracic Surgery Quality and Outcomes Unit and Clinical Perfusion Department at Flinders Medical Centre, and an adjunct Professor with the College of Medicine and Public Health.

A category of Living Legends, recognising Academics in the Spotlight (being Australian academics, researchers and scholars who loom largest in public discourse worldwide) includes Flinders University author Mem Fox, who was mentioned alongside historian Geoffrey Blainey, author Thomas Keneally, scientists, researchers and other academics.
