Setting up Microsoft Teams for teaching

With many academics now returned from leave, the eLearning Teams have received a significant increase in queries about setting up Microsoft Teams for teaching.

Flinders University provides two ways to use Teams in FLO:

  • Microsoft Teams Classes, offers a traditional Teams experience, with connections to OneDrive, Outlook Calendars, and a persistent chat.
  • Teams Meetings offers a portal to book just Teams meetings but can be integrated into Canvas in different ways.

Teams Classes is the best option in most circumstances as it has a greater range of features, automatically shares recordings with students, and provides more flexibility for staff. To assist in finding the best version, the eLearning Team has developed a comparison chart with the complete list of differences.

For further information on how to use either version, visit the Teams website or enrol in a workshop.
