O’Week, final tours and tech reminders – New City Campus

Here’s the latest on what’s happening at Flinders’ New City Campus, including the first Student O’Week held at the new campus, staff orientation tours and important technology reminders.

Student O’Week

Last week, new students flocked to our New City Campus to participate in and experience a vibrant and warm Flinders O’Week welcome. During this exciting event, students took the opportunity to explore the brand new spaces, attend information sessions and engage in a wide range of activities designed to support a strong, smooth and exciting start for commencing students.

Last week of Staff Orientation Tours

This is the final week that guided Orientation Tours will be available to staff. To attend any of these tours, meet by the banner on the ground floor of the Flinders University entrance for departures at 10am and 1pm each day. These are drop-in sessions only, so no bookings are required.

The Online Orientation guide is still available to staff, providing essential information about the building, operating hours, security, accessibility and floor maps. Staff can also take a self-paced tour or audio tour at the New City Campus (see the Welcome Hub on Level 1 for more information).

Important Technology Reminders

Now we’ve transitioned to the New City Campus, here are some essential technology reminders to support your work experience in the city.

Workstations and laptops: The New City Campus is a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) site, so to work at a workstation please bring a laptop to use. If you do not have a laptop, please refer to your College or Portfolio. Workstations in the New City Campus come equipped with docking station, USB-C connectivity, two monitors, keyboard, webcam and mouse.

Teaching locations: If you are teaching in the New City Campus, note that every teaching location has a room computer available for use. You will be able to log in using your FAN and password. If you need any assistance, IDS support staff are available onsite, but please raise a Service One request to request support.

Set up instructions: For detailed instructions on setting up your workstation, monitors, soft phones and general information for working at the city campus, please refer to the Working at Flinders City Campus

Booking spaces: To reserve a workstation, teaching space, meeting room or recording booth go directly to Resource Booker or from your Okta dashboard.
