State funeral for Dr Lowitja O’Donoghue

A state funeral to honour the life of Dr Lowitja O’Donoghue AC CBE DSG, a proud Yankunytjatjara woman and highly respected Aboriginal leader, will take place at 1pm on Friday 8 March.

The service will honour Dr O’Donoghue’s lifelong work and advocacy to improve the rights, health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Members of the public are welcome to pay their respects and attend the service at St Peter’s Cathedral, North Adelaide – on Kaurna Country.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested people and organisations to honour Dr O’Donoghue by donating to the Lowitja O’Donoghue Foundation.
