Flinders to help illuminate the city

Flinders will add a bright spark to Adelaide’s cultural landscape as one of the presenting partners for the popular Illuminate Adelaide event, underlining the University’s commitment to propel innovation at the intersection of arts and technology.

Illuminate Adelaide, co-founded by Flinders University Distinguished Alumni Award winner Lee Cumberlidge, is held annually on Kaurna Country, and is the state’s brightest celebration of art, light, music, and technology that brings late nights, bright lights, and big adventures to South Australians during winter.

To mark the recent opening of Flinders’ City Campus, the University will be a host for  the 2024 Illuminate Adelaide free program, City Lights, with an activation that will invite attendees to experience a fascinating illuminated interplay of creativity and technology.

Flinders University Vice-Chancellor Professor Colin Stirling says Flinders is delighted to light up Adelaide’s cultural scene, from blending cutting-edge courses with captivating activations for an unforgettable Illuminate Adelaide experience.

“Join us at Illuminate Adelaide, where our commitment to innovation shines brightly. Our collaboration embodies our dedication to fostering creativity and pushing the boundaries of what is possible,” says Professor Stirling.

“Get ready for an unforgettable experience that blurs the lines between imagination and reality.”

This year’s Illuminate event will be held from Thursday 4 July to Sunday 21 July. For more information about the event, click here.
