Where are the yellow recycling bins?

Are you wondering what happened to yellow co-mingled recycling bins at Flinders?

In South Australia, recycling via yellow bins is currently only available to residential properties, and not commercial properties. As Flinders University is classified as commercial, we have transitioned to the 10c deposit recycling system, to ensure as many recyclable items generated on campus are recovered and recycled properly.

To make things clear for staff and students, we have updated bin signage across our four waste streams. At a glance, you can work out which bin is correct for your waste: Red (general), White (10c recycling), Green (organics) or Teal (paper and cardboard). You can learn more about this system on the resource recovery webpage.
