Gym and surrounding areas closed to replace cooling

The Alan Mitchell Sports Centre and Flinders University Sports and Fitness will be temporarily closed from 5:30am to 9:30am on Sunday 15 September for works to replace the evaporative cooling system including:

  • All levels of the gym
  • Upper level of car park 1
  • Steps between the upper level of car park 1 and the gym
  • Path to/from car park 1 to the Health Sciences building.

Traffic managers will be in place to divert pedestrians and drivers along other routes. The central steps up from/down to the middle and lower levels of car park 1 and the southern access ramp near Biology will not be affected.

Parking in car park 1 will still be available on the middle and lower levels and access to FUSA and the Student Centre will be via the southern doors.

For those with 24/7 access (only) – the gym will reopen at 9:30am, but group fitness classes will not be held, and admin/reception staff will not be onsite.

Glass replacement – HMRB

Works to replace a broken window on the Health & Medical Research Building’s western façade (level 9) and southern façade (level 1) are taking place this Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 September.

For safety reasons, there will be an external exclusion zone and no access to level 9 offices and breakout spaces during the works.

To access the building and to pass between University Drive and Station Plaza/car park 12 during works, please use the external lift from level 1 to level 2 and follow signs on the northern side of the building.

If you work in the HMRB, look out for email communications from the Facilities Manager. Please note: if the weather is not favourable, the works will be rescheduled.
