The SET prize winner is…

In semester 1, all staff who achieved a response rate of over 75% for their Student Evaluation of Teaching (SET) surveys went into a prize draw to win a $50 gift card.

Congratulations to our random draw winner James Venn! James, a paramedicine lecturer, achieved an 88% response rate for the PARA3002 Decision Making in Paramedic Practice survey. With a total cohort of 127 students in this topic, what is his secret?

“A lot of encouragement” says James, “Mostly FLO and word of mouth”.

“We just encourage them to do it, and they seem to respond to it quite well” says James. “We just, I guess, across the board try and encourage them to do it in a way that probably most other professionals do as well-  just to help us improve and get better. And we do use it and we have changed lots and lots of things based off SETs alone.”

Thanks to Janageeth Logeswaran, President of FUSA, who awarded James his prize. “Student feedback is invaluable as it drives continuous improvement, enhancing the learning experience for students and ensuring their educational journey is more effective and rewarding.”
