Flinders University wins Clever Campus GJK Diversity Award

Flinders University has been recognised at the Australia and New Zealand Tertiary Education Facilities Management Association’s (TEFMA’s) Clever Campus Awards in Auckland, winning the GJK Diversity Award. This award promotes the positive contributions made by an organisation to demonstrate an holistic and long-term commitment to diversity within the education sector.

At the heart of this achievement are the collective efforts from many people across the University to champion diversity and create a vibrant, inclusive and values-based community. The submission focussed on initiatives and programs from the Office of Indigenous Strategy and Engagement, Properties, Facilities and Development Division, the Office of the Vice President Corporate Services and People & Culture teams that are helping to create more inclusive environments for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Just some of the activities detailed in the submission included furthering outcomes from Flinders’ second Reconciliation Action Plan and Indigenous Workforce Strategy, the Indigenous Employment Scheme and the delivery of Country Centred Design Principles for campus developments.

Congratulations and well done Flinders University!
