Council Elections will open soon

Council Elections for the academic and professional staff representatives for the Flinders University Council will be open shortly. Nominations open for one professional and one academic staff member will begin at 11am on Monday 7 October, and will close on Monday 21 October at 12pm.

Should a vote be required, voting will commence on Monday 28 October and close on Friday 1 November.

The 2024 elections are for appointment terms from 1 January 2025 and 31 December 2026.

During their two-year term the staff members of Council will be at the heart of the University’s decision-making processes, bringing staff perspectives to the future direction of Flinders.

Emails providing instructions on nomination and voting will be sent from elections@flinders.edu.au.

Nomination and voting are run via the online platform “BigPulse” and emails on nomination/voting will contain links coded to you as an individual. These emails should not be forwarded or shared. If forwarded, another individual may be able to nominate or vote using your identity. Your link will not be recoverable in this event.

The electoral roll was generated on 16 September 2024. To nominate for and vote in the election, you must have been employed at Flinders University on 16 September 2024 in one of the following election categories:

  • Academic staff: Academic staff who hold a continuing, convertible or fixed-term appointment who are classified in accordance with the academic classification levels A-E under the Enterprise Agreement, research staff whose salaries are tied to the academic classification levels, and Deputy Vice-Chancellors, or Pro Vice-Chancellors.
  • Professional staff: Professional staff who hold a continuing or fixed-term appointment and who are classified in accordance with the professional staff classification levels under the Enterprise Agreement, or who are classified as Research Assistants, or who hold senior administrative appointments with conditions applying to professional staff (and are not Deputy Vice-Chancellors or Pro Vice-Chancellors).
