The SET prize winner is…

Imagine 78% of your students providing feedback to improve your topic? Louise Roberts from Paramedicine has done just that – and won a $50 gift card in the process!

Louise is the topic coordinator for PARA3009 Mental Health Emergencies and was in the draw with staff who achieved a response rate of over 75% for their Student Evaluation of Teaching (SET) surveys in semester 2, 2024.

How did she do it?

“I just encourage students to engage and fill them out and to try and be specific and constructive as possible,” says Louise.

And it has worked – with 105 out of 134 students completing their SET and providing valuable insights to their experience with her topic.

SETs for semester 1 2025 will be opening 2nd June for most topics, and if you have your students in class in week 12 this is a great chance to have a quick chat about the importance of student feedback to improve topics and teaching.

And it seems just a little encouragement and a reminder is all it takes!
