Flooring replacement has begun on level 1 of the Student Hub, there’s work on rooftops, in some accessible toilets and in car park 4, plus carpet cleaning continues and more.
Level 1 and 2 Student Hub flooring works
Flooring replacement works on level 1 and 2 will be completed in four stages until Friday 6 February 2026.
Stage 1 work began yesterday at the northern end of the second floor, with the following access changes:
- No access via the northern stairs and lift between level 1 and level 2, however the southern lift and stairs remain open.
- No level 2 access between the Central Library and the Student Hub, however access on level 1 remains open.
Wildernest and Alere Function Rooms remain open and accessible via the southern lift and stairs. This stage continues until Friday 19 December. Check the retailers’ summer opening dates and times online.
Please follow directions and diversions as marked on signs – noting the access will change as work progresses to subsequent stages.
Car park 4 works
Starting on Tuesday 9 December and continuing to Thursday 18 December, fallen branches and dry matter is being removed from around car park 4 on Humanities Road. Access to parking bays will be maintained. This will help reduce the bushfire risk this summer. Please observe reduced speeds as marked on signage and stay out of work zones.

They are installing the lightning rods and down conductors and connecting to the grid. Access via the bridge between the Health Sciences Building (level 1) and the Lecture Theatre (level 3) will be closed during works.
Reminder – bus stop refurbishment
If you commute to/from university and use bus stop 26A on University Drive (opposite Sturt Drive), note the bus stop is having a facelift from this week – including painting, cleaning, re-roofing and installation of new safety glass. The stop is now fenced off and unavailable, but Adelaide Metro has set up temporary stops right next door. Look out for signage onsite.
