In 2026 we are starting the year with an eye to the future!
On 4 February, we will be welcoming Professor Ariella Helfgott and Stav Adameitis from SA Futures Agency, for an exclusive workshop for professional managers and leaders at Flinders University.
The ‘Signals to Scenarios: Strategic Foresight for Flinders’ aims to provide professional leaders and managers with a practical, engaging introduction to strategic foresight, focused on the future of Flinders University in the context of broader drivers impacting the future of universities, the future of higher education and the future of our society here in South Australia in a global context.
This event will be highly interactive, enabling participants to explore emerging change and consider how they can build resilience and adaptability within their teams and the wider university system.
Morning tea and networking will also be featured for this event to strengthen cross-university relationships.
By the end of the session, participants will:
- Understand the purpose and practice of strategic foresight as a tool for leading in uncertainty.
- Identify the key trends and critical uncertainties shaping the future of higher education and Flinders University.
- Build confidence to think systemically, act adaptively, and plan resiliently for multiple futures.
- Strengthen their collective capability to anticipate change and shape the future of work and learning in South Australia.
This workshop is funded through the Professional Staff Development Fund and is available to fixed term and continuing professional staff members at levels HEO7 and above.
Last minute enrolments may be available through the Staff Learning Portal – by searching under ‘Courses’.
