City Campus level 6 upgrade

Works on level 6 of the City Campus are ongoing with restrictions in place on the southern side of the building. This work will expand teaching capacity with two clinical labs and hi-fidelity rooms, a multipurpose lab and home simulation lab.

A reminder that the two recording booths are not bookable until these works are completed in late May.

Access around Physical Sciences building

A reminder that pedestrian access is temporarily altered both within the Physical Sciences building, and between Anchor Court, the Biology Discovery Centre and car park 8 for the Physical Sciences building roof renewals and electrical back up and supply projects.

Changes include closure of the central breezeway between Anchor Court and former car park 7 (as it is a closed construction site) and temporary updates to the South Ridge Accessible Path.

Please follow diversions as marked on signage. Works will be ongoing into mid-2026.

Electrical maintenance

The March schedule of compliance testing – test and tagging of electrical appliances, and electrical safety switches (residual current devices or RCDs) will be conducted in the following buildings from Monday 2 March:

Technicians will test equipment such as laptop chargers, monitors and desk equipment, so if you have appliances in a secure cupboard or room, please arrange a time to have them tested. Please ensure devices are powered down and save your work before you leave each day.

This testing requires a short power outage, and to minimise disruption will therefore be conducted out of usual hours (between 6am and 9am) unless otherwise advised. Remember to save your work before you leave each day.

Retail update

All retailers have now reopened for the year, with two fantastic new Bedford Park retail offerings:

1. A Pot Called Kettle and SMOODI – in the Professional Services building (check out the profile in this edition of Flinders in Touch)

2. Honey Bee yoghurt and dessert bar – at the southern end of the Plaza (profile coming soon in Flinders in Touch).

For more information head to our Food and Retail web page.

Campus presentation works

While the team have made buildings, paths, carparks, open spaces and gardens look their best for Orientation Week, works to clean windows with drones, poles or abseiling continue through March.

Please be reminded to keep your windows shut and stay out of work zones, as directed by signage and staff.
