Now open on the ground floor of the Professional Services Building, A Pot Called Kettle and SMOODI bring fresh new food offerings to Bedford Park campus, catering for breakfast, lunch and coffee breaks.
“At A Pot Called Kettle, we offer a line of ‘big format’, boutique-y focaccias, made fresh daily,” says café manager, Maddie.

“Options include a mouth-watering house chicken mix with avocado and bacon; roasted seasonal veggies with basil pesto and balsamic glaze; or salami with rocket, chili and honey (just to name a few). Homemade focaccias are bound to sell out fast each day – with options updating seasonally.
“We also offer a couple of different salads each day for a fresh take on lunch, plus a range of homemade old-style slices – imagine a salted caramel slice just like your granny used to make.”
There are plenty of vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options available.
The team proudly serves all the coffee variations for your caffeine hit – using ethically sourced coffee beans from specialty local roasters.
“Come for a coffee, stay for a chat!” says Maddie.
Adjacent is SMOODI. You can’t miss it – it’s where you’ll see staff and students queuing at the electric pink neon sign, with a tenner in hand to try one of the 10 different freshly squeezed juice or smoothie options on offer.
While some think ‘Mo Mango’ is the tastiest smoothie with fresh orange juice, mango and yoghurt – you may prefer the ‘All Day Breakkie’ with overnight oats, turmeric, cinnamon, yogurt and peanut butter. Go see for yourself!
“We’re looking forward to making new friends at Flinders,” Maddie says.
A Pot Called Kettle is open 7.30am – 4pm and SMOODI from 8am – 2.30pm Monday to Friday, on the ground floor of the Professional Services Building, with function/meeting catering available. Order digitally for delivery or pick up. Full details on our Food and Retail web page.
