Translate your expertise into actionable advice for students

At BetterU, Flinders’ central digital hub for student wellbeing, we believe that the best advice comes from within our own community. We are currently evolving into a community co-designed publication, and we are seeking the expertise of our academic and professional staff to help students “design a good life”.

Whether you are a researcher in a health-related field, an academic with “survival hacks” for placement stress, or a professional staff member who has mastered the art of the work-life juggle, your insights can make a tangible difference in a student’s journey.

We are looking for staff contributors to help us build out our four wellbeing pillars:

🤸‍♂️ Body: Practical, evidence-based tips on nutrition, physical activity, sleep, and sustainable health habits.

👫 Together: Insights on building community, navigating healthy relationships, and finding belonging at Flinders.

🧭 Spirit: Reflections on finding purpose, clarifying values, and personal growth during university life.

👩‍🎓 Study & Learning: Evidence-based study tips, time-management strategies, and academic resilience.

How you can contribute

We know your time is limited, so we offer a “Co-Pilot” approach to content creation. You don’t need to provide a polished article; we can help you “translate” research publications, assignment topics, or even rough dot points into relatable, student-focused content.

For a great example of how academic research can be translated into personal wellbeing advice, check out this recent post: The Light I Didn’t Know I Needed
