Congratulations to Professor Jamie Craig, Professor of Opthalmology in the College of Medicine and Public Health, for being named in The Ophthalmologist ‘Power List’ for 2026.
The Power List showcases ophthalmology leaders and influencers who have made a significant impact in the field in the past 12-18 months. Professor Craig has led the development of SightScore, a polygenic risk score for glaucoma, including the incorporation of a start-up company Seonix Bio, to facilitate fundraising activities to fund regulatory accreditation in Australia, New Zealand, and the United States. New network expands lipid research

Congratulations to Associate Professor Bart Eijkelkamp, research section lead in Molecular Sciences and Technology in the College of Science and Engineering, on the launch of the The Lipid Network. Led by Flinders University, this initiative is an international, community-driven platform that brings together researchers and stakeholders across biochemistry, clinical lipidology, microbiology, agriculture and environmental science. Flinders success in Playford Trust awards

Professor Giselle Rampersad, Interim Deputy Vice-President and Executive Dean, College of Science and Engineering, presented at this year’s Playford Trust scholarship presentations where 21 outstanding Flinders STEM students received awards. Hosted this year by Flinders, these scholarship awards are designed to support students to achieve their potential and build South Australia’s knowledge base. Mechanical engineering honours student, Jamie Wickstein, was awarded the Hon Sir Eric Neal AC CVO Engineering Scholarship, and PhD candidate in signal processing, Jasmine Cooks, was awarded the Donald Laidlaw AO PhD Scholarship. Congratulations to all of the recipients and the Flinders staff who have supported them.
