On Monday 13 April, the Flinders Implementation and Translation Academy was launched by Professor Raymond Chan, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research), in the Health Medical and Research building.
Aligning with Agenda 2035, the Academy recognises Flinders’ ambition to develop, support and profile a growing cohort of leading implementation and translational researchers.
Through the Academy, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) will be funding two new initiatives: the Implementation Science Fellowships and the Implementation Science Community of Practice. Ten fellowships will be offered across 2026 and 2027 to enable the next generation of leaders in implementation science and knowledge transformation, and to profile Flinders as a leading centre of expertise.

In this inaugural round, 25 applications were received with six Implementation Science Fellowships awarded. Congratulations to Dr Marcela Radunz (College of Human Sciences and Culture), Dr Amy Marshall and Mr Nathan Harrison (College of Medicine and Public Health), Dr Mette Adams and Dr Heather Block (College of Health and Enablement), and Dr Tahna Pettman (College of Business, Creative Arts, Law and Social Sciences).
Each fellow receives funding to support professional and project development, mentoring from experienced implementation researchers and the opportunity to network and learn from peers across the university and externally.
The Implementation Science Community of Practice is open to all researchers who applied to the Fellowship scheme and will offer wider opportunities for capability building, peer networking and support.
A further round of Implementation Science Fellowships will be offered for 2027.
