We are upgrading the technology that underpins our Cisco telephones to provide more flexibility and support for collaboration between remote and onsite teams. It will also improve our security and support options.
Due to the recent global Canvas cyber security incident this upgrade was postponed and has been rescheduled for this weekend:
When: 5pm Friday 22 May to 5pm Sunday 24 May 2026
Where: City Campus, HMRB, Bedford Park campus and Sturt buildings, Flinders’ Repat and Noarlunga sites
How will this impact you?
To minimise disruption to your work, research, and teaching activities this work has been scheduled out of business hours. There will be intermittent Cisco phone outages during this time. Mobile phones will not be affected.
Cisco desk phones will be automatically logged out and users may be required to log back in using your FAN ID as the username, and 12345 as the pin number when you next return to work. You can change your pin number after logging in.
Tip: If you experience any issues reconnecting your phone please unplug it, wait 30 seconds, then plug back in to re-set it.
If you use the computer-based phone application ‘Cisco Webex’, this will also require you to log out and log back in with your Flinders credentials to ensure a successful connection.
Your existing voicemails cannot be migrated to the upgraded technology. If you want to keep these voicemails, please save a copy of the audio attachment you received by email at the time of the message.
