Temporary closures at Wildernest
On Wednesday 1 July, Wildernest will open for coffee until 11:30am, but then closes to cater for Flinders’ 60th birthday celebration. Wildernest will also be closed during semester break from Monday 6 to Friday 10 July, reopening on Monday 13 July.
Electrical shutdown works – scheduled for July
Electrical shutdown works will occur during the July mid-semester break across the Tonsley main building on Saturday 11 July, Physical Sciences building, South Lecture Theatres and the Biological Sciences building on Saturday 18 July.
In most cases, buildings and lifts will be closed during works. If you work or study in these locations, please refer to the full program of works.
Tree pruning
Between 8am and 4:30pm on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 June, trees which overhang building roofs will be trimmed in the following locations:
- Physical Sciences building (mathematics wing)
- Oasis building (eastern side)
- Social Sciences North courtyard
- Sturt South (north-eastern corner of the Australian Science and Mathematics school).
The work will generate some noise, and temporary exclusion zones will be around the work areas. Please stay out of exclusion zones and follow any diversion directions on signage or from staff.
Reminders about audits in every lift
Until the end of June, every lift across every campus and precinct is being audited for safety, compliance and naming consistency. Consultants will only need to work in each lift for a 10-minute period, so if they are in the lift you need to use, just ask and they will provide immediate access.
Crane lifts for Physical Sciences building works
A crane will be positioned in the entrance to the former car park 7 on Saturday 27 June and 4 July to lift equipment onto the roof of the Physical Sciences building for the Physical Sciences building roof renewal project.
A reminder that pedestrian access is temporarily altered both within the Physical Sciences building, and between Anchor Court, the Biology Discovery Centre and car park 8.
Please follow directions on signage and from staff and do not enter construction areas. Works will be ongoing into mid-year.
