The first July electrical shutdown is coming up this Saturday at Tonsley, electrical compliance testing is underway, work is ongoing in Physical Sciences buildings and updates for level 2 of the Student Hub.

Electrical shutdown works Saturdays 11 and 18 July

Electrical shutdown works will occur during the July mid-semester break.

  1. This Saturday 11 July in the Tonsley main building and Factory of the Future
  2. Next Saturday 18 July in the Physical Sciences and Biological Sciences buildings and South Lecture Theatres.

In most cases, buildings and lifts will be closed during works. If you work or study in these locations, please refer to the full program of works.

Crane lift and Physical Sciences roof renewal update

Works on the current stage of the Physical Sciences building roof renewal are coming to a close this month. Another crane lift will occur this Saturday 11 July, and additional cranes will be onsite during July (dependant on the weather).

Staff will move back into their spaces at the end of the month.

Anchor Court seating

Works to upgrade and expand seating in Anchor Court continue this week with cladding being added to frames.

Electrical maintenance  

The July schedule of compliance testing (test and tagging of electrical appliances, and testing of electrical safety switches) is ongoing in Biological Sciences building, Health and Medical Research Building, Student Hub, Plaza and Union, Central Library, Professional Services building, Registry, Registry Annexe, Humanities, Drama Centre and Matthew Flinders Theatre.

Wildernest temporarily closed this week

Wildernest on level 2 of the Student Hub is closed for both catering and dine-in meals this week.  It reopens on Monday 13 July.

Stage 1 of lift works completed

Thanks everyone for your patience while we assessed all lifts across our campuses. We will keep you posted about the next stage.

New look for Student Hub furniture

New furniture, greenery and seating options have landed in the study/casual spaces on level 2 of the Student Hub. If you haven’t been there lately, grab your lunch and test out one of the new design options.
