Baroque quartet livens lunchtime

Handel’s beautifully ornate music will be a focus of the next Flinders Lunchtime Music Concert to be held tomorrow, 11 October.

Esteemed Adelaide chamber ensemble ‘Passionately Baroque’ will perform two of Handel’s exquisite German arias, along with instrumental music by Handel, Telemann, Vivaldi and Marcello.

The quartet comprises Agnes Weinstein (baroque violin), Mark Smith (baroque cello), Frances Norton (spinet) and Flinders’ own Dr Gillian Dooley (soprano).

Dr Dooley first sang with the group at a Flinders Lunchtime Music Concert last year, and has since performed with the quartet on several occasions since.

‘Passionately Baroque’ will perform in the Noel Stockdale Room in the Central Library at 1.00pm.
