Updates from the Northern Territory Medical Program (NTMP)

The Northern Territory graduation ceremony on Tuesday 12 December gathered graduates from the Flinders MD and Paramedicine programs in the NT and included graduates from other Flinders courses residing in the NT.

We welcomed the Flinders University Chancellor Mr John Hood, Vice Chancellor Prof Colin Stirling, Vice President Executive Dean of the College of Medicine and Public Health Prof Jonathan Craig and other esteemed guests, families and friends of the graduates to the Darwin Convention Centre. Dr Richie Fejo welcomed us to Larrakia country building on the Saltwater Ceremony that he had conducted earlier in the day at Lee Point.

It was the graduates’ day. The day was a fabulous celebration of persistence, commitment and care for the role of the professional and the future of ongoing learning within the context of the Northern Territory.

Thankyou to all staff who supported the event, and all the people involved in supporting the students become graduates, ready to take up places in the workforce here. There were many clinical teachers and supervisors, and academic staff in attendance. Thankyou for sharing your commitment to the quality of health care to further this in the community.
