Updates from the Doctor of Medicine Rural Stream (MDRS)

The MDRS cohort of 2022 graduated from the Flinders MD program last week, ready for the next stage of their journey as Doctors of Medicine.

It was a happy celebration, also attended by Vanessa Ryan, Director Rural Clinical School and Program Administrators from each of the regions who were an integral part of supporting the students during their third year placement.

While most will spend their intern year at a metropolitan hospital, some plan to continue their rural journey, training regionally.

Congratulations to William Molloy, (Hills Mallee Fleurieu 2022), recipient of the RACGP prize and Richard Burns Prize for Neurology.

Hugo Keller was awarded the Marg Brown prize for his outstanding contribution to a South Australian rural community outside his medical course curriculum requirements. The prize is named in honour of Margaret Brown, (AO) who has had significant involvement in rural community engagement and provided strong advocacy for rural health.
