Updates from the MD Director

Dear colleagues,

Another year has gone by too quickly! A lot has been happening in the last few months. This semester, we’ve had lots of exciting developments across the program, in teaching, assessment and research, due in no small part to the contributions that you have made.

The final half of MD Year 4 has now developed into a focussed intern preparedness program to better ready graduates for our changing healthcare workforce needs. The student learning in lectures, tutorials and workshops, is brought to life through work integrated learning in clinical environs across NT and SA and this prepares our students for future practice.

I extend my gratitude to all Flinders MD academic and professional staff, clinician educators and supervisors, for your dedication to teaching, supporting and encouraging the next generation of doctors. Thank you for imparting your knowledge and experience, refining clinical skills and diagnostic acumen, and modelling professionalism for clinical practice.

159 medical students successfully completed the Flinders MD this year, with 147 graduates celebrating their achievement at ceremonies in Darwin and Adelaide last week. Ultimately this is what we are all here working towards. We wish our new doctors all the very best in their new career!
