In June 2016 the Centre for Remote Health welcomed new Topic Coordinator Karen Collas.
Karen came to Central Australia originally to work as a Remote Area Nurse and has recently worked as a Director of Nursing and a Nurse Practitioner in remote Queensland.
Earlier in 2016 Karen travelled throughout Canada, Greenland and the United Kingdom where she examined the role and scope of practice of Nurse Practitioners in remote areas as part of her Churchill Fellowship.
Karen has a Masters in Remote Practice (Nurse Practitioner), a Masters in Remote Health Management and a Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Education and she is passionate about Nurse Practitioners working in remote settings.
