HDR Student Representatives March update

HDR Candidature Management

The Australian Council of Graduate Research (ACGR) released guidelines in December on the use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Graduate Research Training, which can be found here: https://www.acgr.edu.au/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/ACGR-Good-Practice-Guidelines-for-Generative-Artificial-Intelligence-Use-in-Graduate-Research-Training.pdf. Flinders University has additional resources on the responsible use of AI in study and research on the Library website: https://library.flinders.edu.au/students/ai. Given how fast-moving the AI space is, it’s likely that what’s out there will continue to be updated, so it’s worth checking in with these resources regularly. As mentioned in a previous post, the University has provided all research students with access to Microsoft Copilot with enterprise protection as a secure platform for research use. Using this platform and the guidelines will help to ensure that your research, integrity and information stay safe.

Finally, we are delighted to introduce your new UHDRC student representatives, Christopher Hogan and Evan Woolbright, and student alternate representatives Citra Orwela and Hongmei Xie, for the next twelve months. You can always contact your representatives via email at: UHDRC.studentreps@flinders.edu.au.

It has been a pleasure and privilege to represent you, the HDR student community, over the last year. We hope that we have been able to keep you informed of all of the important details from the UHDRC and that we have been able to improve your HDR journey. We wish you farewell and the all the best with your writing.
