‘Heavenly’ facilities for Master of Engineering student Falgun

Flinders postgraduate engineering

Meet Falgun Prajapati, for whom the laboratory facilities at Flinders Tonsley Campus have proved ‘heavenly’ for the enthusiastic Master of Electronic Engineering student from India.

I chose to study at Flinders University above all other universities in Australia because of the research potential in the electronics domain. It’s much greater than any other university, I found. The skillful professors were just icing on the cake!

The best aspect of my degree is the hands-on approach. As an engineer, one must not depend upon bookish knowledge, as hands-on experience is always required. The facilities and laboratories at the Tonsley Campus are really great for this kind of work, where you can combine theoretical with practical. The Tonsley campus is a kind of heaven for an enthusiastic electronics student.

I’ve been passionate about engineering since I was at school. I studied a combined undergraduate degree in Electronics and Information Technology, and it was during this I discovered aspects of electrical engineering were at the backbone of most industries. So my passion grew stronger from there.

The campuses at Flinders are wonderful. Being an engineering student, all my topics take place at the Tonsley campus. It has practically become my home as I spend much of my time here. The laboratories are well-equipped and future-proofed. I strongly encourage students to take advantage of the facilities and services on offer across all campuses. Things like Flinders Uni Student Association (FUSA) at Bedford Park, the library and International Student Services (ISS).

I chose to study in Australia because it is very safe, has a high standard of living and the opportunities available after studying. Life in Adelaide has been pleasantly amazing. The atmosphere of the city is lively, and it’s a very natural, beautiful environment.

To be honest, my experience at Flinders University as a student has been better than I dreamt of. The professors, as well as staff members, are so helpful that you don’t even feel that you are far from your home. The university has been very supportive, be it academically, financially or emotionally. Hear what our students have to say about Flinders support – here.

The advice I would give to a future student would be to live your university life to the fullest. Make friends, make an effort to bond with your professors and you will cherish these memories throughout the rest of your life.

I know it will feel tough to be away from home at first, but give it some time and I am quite sure that like me you will make this university your new home.
