Fridays at the Library: Ethnic Jewellery and Adornment

jewelleryTruus Daalder presents an illustrated talk about the fascinating objects covered in her book Ethnic Jewellery and Adornment.

The book draws upon the extensive holdings of the South Australian Museum and the Daalders’ own private collections.

Beautifully illustrated, the book covers the relatively unexplored area of Aboriginal adornment in addition to chapters on Oceanic, Asian and African cultures.

Truus Daalder, with her husband Joost, has been a collector of objects from non-European cultures, especially in the area of jewellery and adornment, for more than 3 decades.  She is the author of the bestselling Hunting Antiques in New Zealand.
