Writing the Holocaust in End of the Night Girl : Amy T. Matthews

3.30pm, Friday 16th September 2011

Noel Stockdale Room, Central Library

Winner of the 2010 Adelaide Festival Award for Best Unpublished Manuscript, Adelaide writer Amy T. Matthews’ End of the Night Girl (Wakefield Press) explores the possible connections between a 21st century woman and the horror of the Holocaust.

It is humorous, dramatic and disturbing. In conversation with Gillian Dooley, Amy will explore the challenges involved in the act of fictionalising the Holocaust, which occurred on another continent, in unfamiliar cultural landscapes and languages, and in the unreachable time of another century.

All welcome – admission free – light refreshments.
