Hollywood of the South: the SA Film Corporation at 40

A ‘Fridays at the Library’ History Festival event! 5.30pm, Wednesday 29 May at the Hetzel Lecture Theatre, State Library of SA & 3pm, Friday 31 May in the Noel Stockdale Room, Central Library, Flinders University.

See a selection of 16mm films from the SAFC’s early days and join in a discussion with film experts and historians.

The South Australian Film Corporation played a key role in building a national and international reputation for South Australia through its filmmaking endeavours. Join us for a program including a selection of documentaries and promotional films, featuring celebrities such as Jack Thompson and Julie Anthony, to showcase the Corporation’s early productions. Film experts and historians will lead discussions about SA’s budding film industry.
