Political Satire and the Cartoonists’ View of Election 2013

The satirists’ eye upon an otherwise boring campaign offers an opportunity to find out what was really going on, and along the way have a laugh. Flinders University Associate Professors Haydon Manning (School of Social and Policy Studies) and Robert Phiddian (School of Humanities) have been writing on the campaign cartoons since 1998 and will be contributing a chapter to a book produced by the nation’s leading political scientists dealing with the 2013 National Election. They believe their chapter is the most read – but it depends on taking into account the audience reaction to what caught their eye. So come along and help the process of determining the best cartoons of campaign 2013.
