The Central Library hub will be abuzz on the afternoon of July 11 when 150+ invited guests say farewell to Ian McBain who retires as University Librarian.
(If it’s an undisturbed study space in Central that you are after at this time, head to levels 0, 2 or 3.)
Ian McBain was appointed as University Librarian in 2009. He was first employed with Flinders Library in 1982, having also completed his BA with the University a few years earlier. Over the years, Ian has worked in a number of different roles, and many of the Library’s innovative spaces, resources and services bear the mark of his dedication and leadership. Ian has also been involved in university-wide initiatives, notably as leader of the recent student consultation for the new hub. Thanks Ian–and farewell!
