WELCOME to the Library at Sturt, now open 24/7. The Library at Central is also open 24/7.

STURT LIBRARY ENTRANCE

A new glass-door entrance is located on level 3 of the west wing at Sturt.
Doors open automatically Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm.

STURT BUILDING ACCESS – WEST WING

Enter the west wing at Sturt via the Café or from the internal courtyard via the orange door. Take the stairs to level 3.

The entire space is open 24/7 to students and staff with a current Flinders ID card.
After 5pm and on weekends, swipe your card on the access mechanism to the right of the door.

Students with a disability access plan (negotiated with a Disability Advisor) may gain access to level 3 via the Sturt North Lift.

SECURITY

There are security cameras on both levels of the Library at Sturt and a call-button on the pillar just inside the Library entrance. Press the button to speak with University Security. There are phones with direct dial to Security near the Search PCs on levels 3 and 2.

You may call Security at any time on 820 12880. Please have your ID card with you at all times.

SERVICES

Returns chute Info Desk Self-check

Most services are on level three, near the Library entrance. This includes:

  • Library Information Desk: staffed Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.
  • Self-check units: borrow books using your student ID card
  • Returns chute: return all borrowed items through the hole in the blue wall
  • Printers: Sturt 1, 2, b, 4
  • Search PC (and phone to Security)

Visiting services such as the JPs, Student Learning Lounge, FUSA events will be on level 3.

ADAPTIVE TECHNOLOGY ROOM

Adaptive Technology Lab

An Adaptive Technology Room  with two PCs is on level 3. Turn left at the Library Information Desk.  Reserved (swipe access) for students with a Disability Action Plan.

BOOKABLE STUDY ROOMS

There are two bookable rooms on level 3 (3.2, 3.3) and four bookable rooms on level 2 (2.1-2.4). Make Bookings using this link.

COMPUTERS

Computer lab

There are separate rooms (S311 and S347) and individual study spaces with student PCs. Find your own space No booking required. Occasionally class groups may be given priority of use.

Entry and exit the Library at Sturt via the auto door on level 3. Gain access to:

  • ASMS book collection
  • University book collection
  • Bookable study rooms (2.1-2.4)
  • Quiet and silent  study spaces
  • Search PC
  • Student PCs (and phone to Security)
  • Printer: Sturt 3
