The Library is pleased to announce the publication of Human Musculoskeletal Anatomy: Developing Applied Knowledge for Effective Clinical Reasoning, authored by Associate Professor Christine Barry, Erin Simpson and Emeritus Professor Ian Gibbins. 

The open textbook provides a functional, inquiry-based approach to learning anatomy, bringing together visuospatial learning and clinical reasoning.  

As an Open Educational Resource (OER), the textbook helps reduce financial and access barriers to learning materials while extending the reach of Flinders-authored educational resources. OERs can also provide opportunities for educators to reuse and, where permitted, adapt resources for their own teaching. 

The publication also marks an important milestone for the Library as the first title published on Flinders University’s new OER publishing platform. The new platform strengthens our capacity to support the creation and publication of high-quality, Flinders-authored open educational resources.
