New PhD Graduate

Congratulations to Dr Salindi Herath on officially joining the PhD club in Biomedical Engineering at the Medical Device Research Institute, Flinders University! 🚀

Her thesis, “Influence of Mechanical Factors on Bone Remodelling in the Proximal Tibia Following a Primary Total Knee Arthroplasty”, dives into how knee joint loading affects bone density in the first year after knee replacement – serious science with real impact for patients.

Proudly ARC CMIT-funded through the ARC Training Centre for Medical Implant Technologies, showcasing collaboration between world-class research and industry innovation.

Huge shout out to her stellar supervisory team – Professor Mark Taylor, Associate Professor David Hobbs, and Professor Dominic Thewlis – for their guidance along the way.

The MDRI community is cheering Salindi on as she takes this momentum into the next chapter of her career! 💪
