Quiet Achievers acknowledged at College Forum

We are delighted to once again celebrate the Quiet Achievers among our staff at the CMPH. In February, we acknowledged several exceptional individuals whose contributions to the College often go unnoticed but are vital to our success. Each of these staff has made a significant contribution to the CMPH, and we are grateful for their hard work and commitment.

We would like to extend our congratulations to the March Quiet Achiever Awardees:

Carlie Delaine: In recognition of her exceptional service to the College including fostering relationships with internal and external stakeholders, being a wonderful role model and adviser to researchers, Honours and PhD candidates, and recently becoming Professional Staff Research Assistant Community of Practice Co-Chair, your responsibilities as an Out of Hours Emergency contact for the Forbes lab ultracold -80 freezers and identifying improvements that could be initiated within common usage facilities.

Julie Inglis: In recognition of her leadership and collaborative approach to developing the international work of the college, including significant planning for overseas events, building strong professional relationships, and consistently seeking new opportunities for growth.

Lara Escane: In recognition of her ongoing commitment to silently delivering successful outcomes for the College which are above and beyond her substantive role / tasks, and always proactively helping whichever team needs assistance, including reviewing and refining data for the Controlled Environment Database in 2020, 2021, & 2022, preparing the MPTF for promotion activities to showcase the facility and education opportunities, collaborating with IDS to initiate a new charging regime for the MPTF laptop batteries, and implementing the use of Qualtrics Surveys across the Technical Services Team to identify levels of service and areas of improvement which otherwise may go unnoticed.

March Quiet Achiever Awardees Julie Inglis, Carlie Delaine, Lara Escane, Yvette Hilton, and Nayia Cominos with Vice President and Executive Dean Jonathan Craig.

Our Quiet Achiever Awards are an ongoing initiative, and we encourage all staff members to nominate their colleagues who go above and beyond the call of duty. The Awards are open to all College staff, including portfolio staff, and affiliates who support CMPH activities, and there is no limit to the number of awards that can be given out.

We believe that it is essential to recognise the contributions of our Quiet Achievers, as their work is often done behind the scenes but is no less important than the work of those in more visible roles. These individuals keep the College running smoothly, ensuring that our students receive the highest quality education and that our research continues to make a significant impact in the world.

If you work with a quiet achiever who goes above and beyond but does not receive due recognition, please email your suggestion/s to Professor Jonathan Craig with a short description of their noteworthy contribution.
