Rural and Remote Health at the Mildura Field Days

Flinders Rural and Remote Health SA are taking the Flinders brand far and wide, promoting the study of health disciplines at Field Days and community events.

Recently, Liam and Elspeth crossed the border into North-western Victoria and attended the Mildura Field Days at the Racing Club which is still partially surrounded by water following the flood event.

We were fortunate to have Laura, Riverland MDRS student and Mildura local as our wonderful Flinders ambassador, who shared her journey to medicine and rural experience with visitors who really enjoyed trying activities including taking blood pressure, heart rate and using a patella hammer.

There were enquiries about a vast range of degrees including health and we gave out information about the campuses and footprint, courses, scholarships, sub-quotas, post-graduate and contact details for student recruitment. Many were unaware of our regional campuses with availability and access for all Flinders students and the three year Bachelor of Nursing at the Renmark campus.

It was great to see some Flinders alumni and their families pop into our stand and community members who said how much they appreciated us travelling to Mildura to be part of the event.
