What is your role and what does your work focus on?
Manager Multi-disciplinary Programs. I’ll be working closely with Director Kim Pearce, Department of Rural Health, and Deputy Director of Operations Tracie Bartlett, Rural and Remote Health, to support three key programs: Aged Care Alice Springs Placement, Katherine Region Interprofessional Student Placement, and University Department of Rural Health.
Where did you work and/or study before joining CMPH / Flinders?
I have a professional background in Vocational Education and other Government-funded programs that impact the everyday lives of Territorians and have done so for about twenty years.
What inspired you to pursue a career in your current field, and how has your passion evolved over time?
I am passionate about quality education and key areas of social health and justice. I joined the team at Flinders to continue in the journey and focus on Remote Health Programs and initiatives.
Can you share a memorable experience or project from your career that had a significant impact on you or the community? It was a pleasure to work on a project relating to compulsory income management in the NT. This was memorable and confronting as it gave me a chance to speak to people that remain impacted by the NT Emergency response and the unique context of First Nations peoples in the NT.
How do you like to relax or spend your spare time?
I am currently undertaking post-graduate studies in Public Policy, so a lot of my spare time involves a lot of reading.
