Thanks to the generous support of private and public donors, the College of Medicine and Public Health is pleased to annually present awards and prizes to Flinders University students in recognition of their academic excellence, achievements, and contribution to the University.

On 5th May 2026, staff, friends and family of the 2025 awardees were invited to Alere Function Centre, Bedford Park to celebrate the outstanding achievements of these students.

Prize sponsors and presenters including the SA/NT Australian Institute of Medical Clinical Scientists Chair, Deborah Howe, and SA Ambulance Service Executive Director of Clinical Services, Keith Driscoll, Kay and Brian Liston.

⭐ Michael Crotty Prize in Public Health: Awarded to Kate Penta, for the completing student in the Master of Public Health who achieves the highest-grade point average.

⭐ Outstanding Masters Graduate in Remote and Indigenous Health: Awarded to Kim-Nghi (Nee) Le Tran, for the student who has achieved the highest overall grade across the duration of the Masters in Remote and Indigenous Health.

⭐ Chronic Disease in Remote and Indigenous Primary Health Care Prize: Awarded to Taryn Theobald, for the student who achieves the highest mark in the Chronic Disease in Remote and Indigenous Primary Health care topic

⭐ Bachelor of Clinical Sciences Academic Excellence Prize: Awarded to Caitlyn Zamuner, for the second-year student in the Bachelor of Clinical Sciences who achieved the highest-Grade Point Average over Years 1 and 2 of the course.

⭐ Bachelor of Medical Science Prize for Academic Excellence: Awarded to Riley Johnston, for the student who has achieved the highest overall grade point average over the duration of the course.

⭐ Bachelor of Medical Science Prize for Research Excellence: Awarded to Alyce McFarlane, for the student who has achieved research excellence and demonstrated exemplary professional contribution in the topic MDSC3102 Professional Placement in Medical Science.

⭐ Bachelor of Medical Science Prize for Social Accountability: Awarded to Scout Sylva-Richardson, for the third-year student in the Bachelor of Medical Sciences who has demonstrated a commitment to medical science, outside of their studies, by undertaking activities focused on addressing community concerns such as equitable access to health care and health education

⭐ Australian Institute of Medical and Clinical Scientists Award for Academic Excellence: Awarded to Erin Allman, for the student who achieves the highest-grade point average attained in topics undertaken towards the Laboratory Medicine degree.

⭐ Australian Institute of Medical and Clinical Scientists Award for Presentation of a Clinical Case Study Report: Awarded to Erin Allman, this award recognises the achievement of the student who achieves the highest score on their Case Study Report as part of the e-Portfolio assessment.

⭐ Russell Liston Award for Paramedic Clinical Excellence: Awarded to Matthew Richards, for the completing student in the Bachelor of Paramedicine who demonstrates the most outstanding clinical excellence during their clinical placements with the SA Ambulance Service.

⭐ Stafford Wulff Paramedic Graduate of the Year Award: Awarded to Jackson Lockwood, for the student who is voted on by their peers and staff for demonstrating compassion, courage, resilience, and outstanding clinical skills and academic achievement throughout their studies of the Bachelor of Paramedic Science.

⭐ Australasian College of Paramedicine Award for Research Excellence: Awarded to Mia Crisante, for the student enrolled in the Bachelor of Paramedicine who gains the highest overall grade in the topic PARA3004 Research Fundamentals for Contemporary Paramedicine.

⭐ Tom Sutherland Engagement Prize: Awarded to Mike Jaberi, established by his family in 2020, the prize is awarded to the student who demonstrates commitment to their studies, passion for paramedicine, mateship towards fellow students, and academic excellence during their first year of the Bachelor of Paramedic Science.

⭐ SAAS “Executive Director Commendation” award: James Pearce
