Last month, 36 students from the IAHA National Academy (Darwin Program) embarked on a unique learning journey through a culturally responsive educational escape room.
The immersive experience, guided by Flinders University Rural and Remote Health NT academics Leigh Moore and Melba Ridd, kept students thoroughly engaged — evidenced by both smiles and deep concentration — as they navigated challenges that deepened their understanding of remote health in an Indigenous community.
The kinship system puzzle sparked the students’ curiosity, inspiring further exploration and meaningful conversations. This session left students with key learnings and a drive to continue engaging with vital topics.
Flinders University Rural and Remote Health NT is grateful for our ongoing relationship with Indigenous Allied Health Australia and the school-based trainees undertaking a Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance through a collaboration with IAHA Group Training & Fox Education (RTO:40674), and values the opportunity to work together to inspire the next generation to consider careers in remote health.
