Food for thought: people with dementia on dining in aged care

Research by Dr Rachel Milte, Professor Michelle Miller and others has been recently published in the Archives of Gerontology and Geriatrics.

The qualitative study involved focus groups and interviews with people with cognitive impairment in nursing homes, and their family members. The research aimed to describe the experience of food and dining in nursing homes and concluded that further consideration of how to incorporate individualised dietary care is needed to fully implement person-centred care and support the quality of life of those receiving nursing home care.
