Dr Lareen Newman Chairing State Health Conference

Dr Lareen NewmanOne of Southgate’s Senior Research Fellows, Dr Lareen Newman, is Chair of the Organising Committee for the 2013 State Population Health Conference. The Conference is running on 26th October, 9-5, at the Education Development Centre in Hindmarsh. Dr Newman and her conference committee have developed this year’s theme to commemorate the birth and work of one of public health’s leading founders: “Public Health Research & Evaluation: 200 Years After John Snow and Continuing to Make a Difference”. The conference is organised annually by the PHAA (Public Health Association of Australia, SA Branch), AHPA (the Australian Health Promotion Association, SA Branch), AFPHM (the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine) and the AEA (Australasian Epidemiological Association) and this year’s sponsors are the three SA universities: Flinders University, the University of Adelaide, and the University of South Australia.
