Prof Fran Baum in London promoting action on the social determinants of health

Professor Fran Baum is a member of a Chatham House (ranked as the World’s 2nd most influential think tank behind the Brooking Institute) working group which is examining how to develop sustainable means of improving global security with a special focus on ways in which the World Health Organisation can be strengthened. She spent two days working with the working group in London last week and developing the final report which will be published in the first half of 2014. Her special contribution to the working group is in terms of promoting ideas on how action on the social determinants of health can come to be more effective in reducing health inequities and improving global health.
