The Carlton Housing Estate Research Project: Launch of research findings

The findings of the Carlton Housing Estate research project were launched at a public event on Wednesday 11th December 2013. The event was held at a community space under one of the high-rises on the Carlton Housing Estate in Melbourne. It was well attended by public servants from the Victorian Department of Human Services, The City of Melbourne, academics from the University of Melbourne, politicians, service providers from local organisations and the local church, and community members from the Carlton Residents Association and the Estate. The event included the launch of two research briefs – one of which is aimed at tenants and one is aimed at policy makers – with a presentation of the research findings, followed by a lively discussion by many of the attendees. A/Professors Kathy Arthurson and Anna Ziersch, together with Dr Iris Levin, will continue working on the final stages of the research until mid 2014.
